AND THEY CALL IT CHRISTMAS II

  – Abifoluwa Oduola

In the cold last month of the year,
Comes this spectacle of all events;
Where people come from here and there,
Celebrate the Saviour’s birth.

While some see it for bath as gain,
Others celebrate the birth in vain!
Just in line with age-long prophecies;
The birth that wraps divine mercies.

Good news about the birth of the Messiah;
And the angels shout Halleluiah!
Astonished, the people said, Alas!
Behold, here is Christmas.

To the world, it is and remains a mystery;
To the Church, it is, of course a message;
To you, you and you, it’s for courage;
To me, the heir, it is a victory.
