YOU CAN LIVE FOREVER, I WORRY,

BY S. Galadima

YOU CAN LIVE FOREVER

You can live forever

By what you do,

By what you say,

By how you live

Every day

You can live forever

By how you touch

On all you meet

And wearing smiles

For that is free

You can live forever

When you shake

With the hands of time,

And when you go down

Your name will thrive.

I WORRY

I worry about the world

And those that still breathe,

For the dead have found rest

And stillness their peace

Their lips hold no truce

About religion and what is true

About cheats and who to sue

I worry about the world

Arguing on

About who is right

About where Earth came from

The dead mock us

Their chests heavy with

Earth upon it

I worry about the Earth too

With humans on it

When will Truth lie?

In state and be bare?

For many to behold her face

Those who care?

I worry too

About the nature of peace

For truth and peace

Are intimate realms

Yet, invaded by pain and bliss.

DEATH AND LIFE

As cold as winter

As hot as hell

Death still dey chase us

As if we don fail.

As real as blisters

As bold as boil

Life get flipsides

Like say na coin.
